Hey hey, Moonstruck Fam! Today we’re reminiscing on one of our sweetest weddings and it’s sure to make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside (we know it does for us!)

Picture this: Downtown Houston, a cozy cocktail lounge called Miss Carousel, and a couple so head-over-heels for each other that it’s like they stepped out of a fairytale. Meet Caroline and Jacob, the stars of a truly one-of-a-kind wedding that will leave you smiling from ear to ear and daydreaming of your own intimate wedding day!

Love in the Heart of Houston

The stage was set in mid-February 2023, and Houston delivered the perfect weather – not a whisper of chill, nor a hint of sweat. (Maybe we subconsciously chose to look back on this wedding today because we’re fantasizing about that weather… it’s way too hot these days!) It was honestly as if the universe itself was conspiring to ensure that Caroline and Jacob’s day would be as magical as their love story. With just under 50 cherished guests, this was an intimate affair that proved that sometimes, less truly is more.

The iconic Miss Carousel lounge was the backdrop for the event; its dark interior and trendy vibe were the perfect blend of romantic and unconventional that fit this wedding day exactly. We love when a couple chooses a place that reflects their personalities and/or their love story! Unfortunately, Miss Carousel has since closed its doors, which is heartbreaking because it truly was a unique wedding venue. However, we know that the memories created within its walls will help it to live on in the hearts of many!

Details, Details, Details!

The color palette was a work of art in and of itself – romantic neutrals of taupe, baby pink, and magenta danced playfully with the stark elegance of monochrome black place settings and goblets. It was like yin and yang met their match in the most stylish way possible! This juxtaposition mirrored the couple’s personalities, a delightful blend of whimsy and sophistication. We just couldn’t get enough!

Now, let’s talk about the true stars of the day: Caroline and Jacob’s beloved dogs. These furry friends didn’t just attend the wedding; they were an integral part of the celebration. From a heartwarming appearance during the ceremony to a leisurely walk during the cocktail hour, these pooches stole the show (and, let’s be real, our hearts.) Those candid photos of the couple laughing while walking their dogs? Priceless!

Speaking of stealing the show, the dance floor was another realm of its own. A lively band played covers of the couple’s favorite tunes, turning the evening into a joyous celebration of music, laughter, and love. The dance tent, adorned with hanging greenery and Edison bulbs, set the scene for a modern-industrial romance that was straight out of a Pinterest board.

And let’s not forget the sweet treats! Craft Creamery’s ice cream took center stage, proving once again that love and ice cream go hand in hand. Late-night cravings were satisfied with piping-hot pizza from the bar’s kitchen, and honestly, how could it possibly get better than that?

But if we had to pick a favorite element, it would undoubtedly be the literal garden around the cake. Imagine a bed of roses, ranunculuses, and chrysanthemums in full bloom, creating a fairytale-like backdrop that was both breathtaking and heartwarming. Are you swooning as hard as we are right now?! This enchanting display was brought to life by the talented, artistic hands of Ponderosa Blooms—one of our favorite “friendors” (you know, friends + vendors!)

Beyond the aesthetics and the details, Caroline and Jacob’s love story shone brighter than any decoration or arrangement. They exuded kindness, radiated joy, and showcased a love that was palpable to everyone around them. Working with them was not only a pleasure but an honor.
